Join SCAG for the 2025 Regional Conference and General Assembly, May 1-2 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert. This year, SCAG will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a program of panels, discussions, and activities that feature leading thinkers and practitioners in planning and related fields from throughout Southern California and the entire nation.
- Creating a Regional Legacy for the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics – In just three years, Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. A mega-event in a complex and populous region, the LA28 Games present a challenge and opportunity for the region’s economy and transportation system, which must facilitate travel for visitors and the region’s nearly 19 million residents and continue deliveries out of the ports to service the demand for goods across the nation. The LA28 Games is a call to action to create lasting innovations for the region. This panel will explore how infrastructure, programs, policies, and culture change can take action to realize this vision.
